Classics

Students will acquire a foundational knowledge of the vocabulary, morphology, and syntax of the language (Greek or Latin) and be able to read authentic texts with reference to a lexicon, grammar, and commentary.

Students will be able to place and consider texts within the context of their literary genre and historical context.

Students will demonstrate an broad familiarity with literary and cultural analysis of ancient Greek or Latin texts through written and oral presentation.
