Students will develop knowledge of French and Francophone cultures through exposure to a range of works in English translation, including literature, cinema, and/or the visual arts.

Students will improve their analytic and synthetic skills by participating in focused discussions, small group work, and/or oral presentations informed by the works of cultural expression studied in the course.

Students will improve writing skills by producing written work ranging from personal reflections to descriptive or creative writing, to analytical essays.
